US stock market

U.S. stock market ended lower on Friday with health-care shares sank to offset gains among energy producers and investors weighed whether the recent rally in equities may have been overdone. The market has shown a big rally in October to a record on Nov.11 as corporate earnings topped estimates and economic data showed the US economy was weathering a global slowdown as the Federal Reserve ended its bond buying program. With no major data due on Monday market might trade in range with less volume to sustain its uptrend.

Homes have been selling at somewhat brisk pace which usually pushes homeowners to spend on improvements before moving in. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 39.65 points or 0.23% to 17613.58, the S&P gained 6.33 points or 0.31%to 2038.25 and the NASDAQ Composite added 19.08 points, or 0.41% to 4651.62. With US bank holiday on Tuesday in observance of Veterans day, market is expected to trade in range with low volume.

It was helped by the indications of European Central Bank would take more policy action if needed to boost a struggling euro zone economy. Unemployment claims decreased from 288k to 278k this week which acted as a catalyst in market to support bulls. Unemployment rate is due on Friday and is expected to keep up the good pace of the market.
